How TAAP and Imperial College NHS Trust deployed in just 10 days
When the COVID-19 vaccine became available, Imperial College NHS Trust had just ten days to design and launch a working vaccination management system. TAAP deployed its Application Platform directly into the Trust’s operational environment, collaborating in real time to build, test, and refine a fully automated solution. Within ten days, the system went live — automating scheduling, communications, and reporting, freeing NHS staff from manual tasks, and enabling thousands of vaccinations to be delivered safely and efficiently.
Business Needs
Amid the COVID-19 crisis, Imperial College NHS Trust faced the urgent task of vaccinating its staff and high-priority groups under strict time and resource constraints. Existing manual systems could not manage real-time scheduling, communications, or vaccine tracking across multiple sites.
With just ten days before vaccines arrived, the Trust required an automated, reliable solution capable of operating 16-hour days across three hubs, without adding administrative or IT burden.
"TAAP worked collaboratively and effectively with us to deliver a bespoke vaccination booking system in only 10 days from initial interaction to first release."

The Solution
TAAP deployed its Application Platform directly into the Trust’s operational environment, co-developing the solution alongside the Medical Director’s Office. Using an agile Innovation Cycle, TAAP iteratively built, tested, and refined the application daily, capturing requirements and configuring the platform in real time.
The resulting system automated scheduling by priority cohort, managed “waves” of vaccination aligned with stock levels, and handled all communications via email and SMS reminders. Integrated with NHS systems, the solution replaced legacy tools with a fully automated, scalable platform requiring no ongoing maintenance.
